Jay C Foods Weekly Ad
Jay C Foods is a supermarket chain that operates mostly in Southern Indiana. It was founded by Jonathan Groub, a Swiss who immigrated to Rockford, Indiana in 1852. Together with his wife, Elizabeth, they built and managed the store until it has expanded retail locations. In 1998, it has grown to about 30 stores, including specialty Jay C Foods stores such as Foods Plus and Ruler store. In 1999, it was bought by the Kroger Company, a chain of supermarkets which started in Cincinatti, Ohio, and whose founder is Bernard Kroger. The Kroger Company kept the name of the acquired Jay C Foods.
